Today marks Alys’ 2nd anniversary and final release date. Alys is the first commercial voice for Plogue’s Alter/Ego voice singthesis software and markets itself as “a unique user-friendly and high-quality voice synthesizer”. Alter/Ego works in a variety of DAWs, allowing you to type in your lyrics and modify the sound for easy and expressive performances.

ALYS, first covered in 2013, is Franco-Japanese virtual singer developed by VoxWave. She can sing naively in French and Japanese, and includes English has dictionaries and aliases that allow her to sing in heavily accented English. She is voiced by French YouTuber Plucet and has a detailed character bio available on VoxWave’s website.

Alter/Ego is a singing synthesis algorithm developed by Plogue Art et Technologie, Inc. Based off their award winning technology featured in chipspeech Alter/Ego aims to have a more ‘modern’ sound, as compared to chipspeech which had aimed to emulate Vintage voice technology.
