Friend of the blog, José Lastras, also known as MasterVocaloid or Giuseppe-P has recorded and sequenced a new Vocaloid prototype named “Lucía”. Describing her as “sweet” and “pretty” he released a this playlist to showcase the voicebank’s capabilities. For art end he commissioned two character design concepts from artists Aki Glancy and Riisago respectively.
In the Facebook announcement revealing the project he said he has been in contact with the various companies that are licensed to publish voicebanks (Power-FX, Zero-G, and VoctroLabs) but for the moment they didn’t seem interested in selling it at the moment with Yamaha’s licencing costs being cited as the main limiting factor.
For a limited time, until March 31, 2016, ALL Zero-G Vocaloid will be on sale for $49.99.

Today marks Alys’ 2nd anniversary and final release date. Alys is the first commercial voice for Plogue’s Alter/Ego voice singthesis software and markets itself as “a unique user-friendly and high-quality voice synthesizer”. Alter/Ego works in a variety of DAWs, allowing you to type in your lyrics and modify the sound for easy and expressive performances.
ALYS, first covered in 2013, is Franco-Japanese virtual singer developed by VoxWave. She can sing naively in French and Japanese, and includes English has dictionaries and aliases that allow her to sing in heavily accented English. She is voiced by French YouTuber Plucet and has a detailed character bio available on VoxWave’s website.
In an announcement earlier this week Bplats, Inc. has announced the official closing of the English version of the Vocaloid Store. The last day to make any orders will be March 23rd, with the entire store closing March 25, 2016 @ 6 PM (Japanese Standard Time). With the upcoming closure of there is no word yet for Yamaha if English support is going to be added to Vocaloid NET or where westerners are supposed to get their Job Plugins and voicebank downloads.
In a merch campaign promoting the MikuExpo 2016 Tour along with the official Hatsune Miku Expo 2016 E.P. special edition compilation album the organisers have setup a PledgeMusic campaign to help raise additional funds for the tour as well as give fans the chance to bring Miku to their own town.
For those unfamiliar PledgeMusic operates similar to Kickstarter in that it is an all-or-nothing style crowdfunding platform that specifically targets musicians and music fans. The campaign offers a variety of rewards including the MikuExpo 2016 EP, tour t-shirts, multicolor glowsticks, concert credits and more.
