PowerFX Gives VOCALOID3 Release Date and Cost Estimate

A few days ago, we sent an Email to the wonderful staff at PowerFX asking for an estimated release date and cost on their upcoming male VOCALOID3 voice. In a return Email from Bil Bryant, CEO there in Sweden, he was able to confirm the following:

“We are not 100% sure of the exact release and cost but it will probably be $129.

Looks like oct. 1st. for a release, but it is dependent on Yamaha, we are ready [:)]

We are excited with the improvements too!” (8.20.2011)

Needless to say, we’re quite delighted to get wind of the smaller price-tag compared to previous VOCALOID2 releases, but don’t forget to factor in that the full version of the VOCALOID3 Editor must be purchased separately, directly from Yamaha.

While all VOCALOID3 voice banks will come with a “lite” version of the Editor the details concerning its difference from the full version are still unknown. Expect more details as we approach the (tentative) October release.
