VOCAMERICA: The Western Concert Project Kickstarter in its Final Hours

VOCAMERICA: The Western Concert Project is a live holographic musical event featuring English and Western vocal synthesizers of both the Vocaloid and UTAU variety. The event is sponsored by Producer & Daina Voice Provider AkiGlancy and her studio Empathy Studios to be held at NEKOCON 2016. While much of the initial equipment and production related costs were fronted by EmpathP she reached a point where she turned toward the community and Kickstarter for help.

Through the Kickstarter she hopes to finalize the payments of the VOCAMERICA staff members and produce an official concert CD and merchandise. The initial NEKOCON concert is to star Vocaloid Dex & Daina as the main act with Vocaloid Ruby & Maika and UTAU Aiko Kikyuune & Namida with supporting sets. If successful Aki hopes to expand VOCAMERICA to include additional singers and venues.

At the time of writing the Kickstarter is fully funded and is set for Nekocon 2016. As with most Kickstarters Vocamerica is looking to expand its scope and has a variety of stretch goals including “performance upgrades” for potential virtual singers as well as projection and motion capture equipment upgrades.

The campaign is currently working toward its final stretch goals at $20,000 for a Tonio & Prima “performance upgrade” and $25,000 Bruno & Clara “performance upgrade”. Previous stretch goals already met include performance upgrades for Big Al, Sonika, Yohioloid, Oliver and Avanna.

Full Disclosure: Aki Glancy is a friend of the blog and I had given feedback on the Kickstarter before it launched.
